Eve of Endless Night

If something bad has happened before, assume it will happen again but worse.

There is also a fairly gruesome showing of suicidal imagery, as well as vague discussions about it. No suicide is depicted, just the aftermath. The event happens before the beginning of the book. It is not the focus of the story.

Additionally, there is an implied off-screen sexual assault. It is not explicit or shown. The POV character hears the beginning (dialogue only), and leaves to try and stop it.
